Coalinga Animal Shelter works with San Francisco SPCA to Decommission Gas Chamber

Here is the letter from SPCA confirming the Gas Chamber was Decommissioned by the SPCA in San Francisco. I will be following up at Council, making sure that we create or modify our ordinance to guarantee the safety of pets. I will make sure the public is informed on the Coalinga Animal Shelter Policy on Humane Euthanasia protocols dealing with an overcrowded pet population and make sure any products related to the old practices are removed from the facility as soon as possible. This news came to a shock to many of us, myself included, however Coalinga is moving forward. That being said, take care of your pets, keep them safe, don’t let them run loose, get them spayed and neutered, get them vaccinated, and make sure to get your animals licensed through our PD. Pet safety starts at home!!! I will be putting this on a future agenda item at our next Council Meeting.
