Public Service: City of Coalinga

Councilmember (2014–2018, 2020–Present) | Mayor (2016, 2022–Present)
Proudly serving the City of Coalinga through collaborative policy development, fiscal leadership, and a strong focus on public service. Partnered with fellow councilmembers, city staff, and regional stakeholders to implement community-first initiatives and long-term improvements.

  • Civic Engagement & Community Identity

    • Helped establish the Pierce Street Community Garden and supported its expansion

    • Supported the launch of Food Truck Nights and the Farmers Market in the Plaza to foster local commerce and social connection

    • Collaborated to designate Purple Heart Parking Spaces to honor military veterans

    • Approved use of the Pride Sign to promote community events

    • Removed outdated requirements like Garage Sale Permits to simplify community participation

    • Supported ordinance development to regulate chickens and pigs in residential areas

    • Helped bring back and grow the Coalinga Air Show, reinforcing civic pride and tourism

  • Economic Development & Fiscal Responsibility

    • Backed the hiring of the city’s first Economic Development Coordinator

    • Helped suspend business license and home occupation fees for new businesses for one year to support local entrepreneurs

    • Supported the sale of the Claremont Custody Center, eliminating $4.1 million in city debt

    • Participated in strategic budget planning to invest surplus funds in key projects:

      • Splash pad for family recreation

      • Modern animal shelter for public safety and humane care

      • Outdoor food court to boost local dining and vendor opportunities

  • Infrastructure, Technology & Public Services

    • Collaborated to address and resolve the TTHM water quality issue

    • Supported removal of fluoride from the municipal water system after public input

    • Approved a citywide upgrade to the Phone System

    • Helped launch the CitySourced mobile app to modernize service requests and resident reporting

  • Governance, Transparency & Advocacy

    • Authored and gained full council approval for the creation of Transparency and Accountability Committees

    • Took part in the recruitment and selection of a new City Manager, ensuring a thoughtful and effective leadership transition

    • Served as Voting Delegate to the League of California Cities (2017, 2018)

    • Traveled with the Fresno COG One Voice Delegation to Washington, D.C., advocating for local infrastructure and funding


Technology & Innovation: Coalinga-Huron Library District

Information Technology Analyst

Led critical upgrades and innovations across library branches to improve access, learning, and technology infrastructure.

  • Boosted internet speeds:

    • Huron Library: Upgraded to 10 Mbps

    • Coalinga Library: Upgraded to 1 Gbps

  • Installed camera systems with DVR and remote viewing

  • Rolled out a new wireless network across library locations

  • Secured and implemented technology grants for:

    • Virtual Reality learning systems

    • 3D Printers

    • CENIC connectivity (Years 1–3)

  • Deployed new hardware including:

    • Quad-Core All-in-One computers

    • Microsoft Surface Pro 3 laptops

    • Samsung Galaxy Tab 3s and Galaxy VR 5 phones

  • Created Minecraft Mondays, a digital literacy and coding program for youth

  • Actively participated in:

    • Electronic Resources Committee – San Joaquin Valley Library System

Entrepreneurship & Private Sector Leadership

Vosburg Technology Center LLC (Founder & CEO, 2008–2017)

  • Launched and operated CoalingaNowire and SuiteStream wireless internet services

  • Managed a network of 14 towers serving over 300 residential and business customers

  • Provided IT services to remote clients and adapted business operations during market shifts

  • Transitioned from retail to home-based operations in 2016, reopening in a new location in 2017
