Lets put the criminals on the run!
The City of Coalinga needs to address the fact that we have a serious crime and gang problem. Drug addicts and gang members have taken to the streets stealing out of peoples houses, cars, front porches, and anything not tied down. Drive-by shootings by gang elements have been far too common in Coalinga.
Our Coalinga Police Department is doing a great job addressing criminal activity and keeping its citizen’s safe. Sadly, those arrested are sent to Fresno County and quickly released due to over-population in the jail system. Arresting the same people again and again , just to be released back to our community, to commit the same crimes, can no longer be an option. The City of Coalinga needs to come up with a plan on how to deter criminal activity and keep criminals locked up.
I will take a proactive approach in addressing our ever-growing crime dilemma by promoting ideas using technology and community outreach programs such as: social media, websites, hotlines, hidden cameras, informants, positive incentives, and community events to pinpoint and curb criminal activity. Working together as a community, the police, fire, and citizens can take a stand against crime and gangs.
